Eye exam

A complete look at the health of your eyes, not just a prescription update.

An eye exam measures far more than your ability to read letters off a wall. Our optometrist assesses visual acuity, runs a refraction test to pin down your exact correction, then examines the cornea, iris and internal structures of the eye under a slit lamp.

The exam catches glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts early — conditions that respond far better to treatment when found sooner. Eye coordination and depth perception are checked too, which surfaces focusing and alignment problems you would never notice on your own.

Infants: a first exam between six and twelve months. Children 3 to 8: once a year, while vision is still developing. Adults: every two years, or more often if your optometrist recommends it.
